Cookie Policy
What cookies this website uses, why they are used, and how to change your preferences whenever you wish.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow a site to function properly and, where you agree to it, help the site owner understand how the site is being used. Similar technologies such as local storage work in much the same way, and this policy covers those too.
2. Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the website to work and cannot be switched off. They do not track you and are not used for advertising. We use a single item of local storage, dgl-cookie-consent, to remember the cookie choice you have made, so that we do not ask you again on every visit.
Where a page embeds our online appointment scheduler, that provider may also set cookies necessary for the booking to work.
3. Analytics cookies
Analytics cookies are only set after you have selected “Accept analytics”. They help us understand which pages are useful and where the site can be improved. The information is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.
- _ga — Google Analytics 4. Distinguishes visitors. Expires after 2 years.
- _ga_<container id> — Google Analytics 4. Maintains session state. Expires after 2 years.
- _gid — Google Analytics. Distinguishes visitors. Expires after 24 hours.
- _gat — Google Analytics. Limits the rate of requests. Expires after 1 minute.
- _clck / _clsk — Microsoft Clarity. Understands how pages are used. Expire after 1 year and 1 day respectively.
Until consent is given, analytics is set to a denied state and the analytics scripts are not loaded at all.
4. Marketing cookies
We do not currently use marketing, advertising or retargeting cookies on this website. If that changes, this policy will be updated and your consent will be sought before any such cookie is set.
5. Your consent and how to change it
When you first visit the site, a banner asks whether you are happy for us to use analytics cookies. You may accept or reject. Rejecting means no analytics cookies are set and no analytics scripts are loaded.
You can change your mind at any time using the link, which also appears permanently in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent stops further analytics collection and clears the analytics cookies previously set.
6. Controlling cookies in your browser
All major browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking all cookies may affect how parts of this and other websites function. Guidance for your browser is normally found under Settings, Privacy or Security.
7. Further information from Google
Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/cookies. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
8. More about how we use your information
For a full explanation of how we handle personal information, please read our Privacy Policy.
